Today is the day!
We arrived at Southdale Hospital at around 12:30, and Beth is measured to a 6! It looks like we should have a pretty quick labor, which means we expect to meet Cooper's little brother on August 22nd, 2011.
I will keep you posted as the night goes on. We're very excited to me our newest little man!!

Big Boy Bed!

We are almost one week in to Cooper sleeping in a big boy bed and he has done absolutely amazing with the transition! All along we were thinking we were just going to buy another crib, but long story short he is now using Cousin Owen's old toddler bed. It all happened so fast we only prepped him for one day, but we have had NO ISSUES (knock on wood) and he LOVES his big boy bed. He often requests to snuggle once we get home from work/daycare in our bed, but now he wants to snuggle in his big boy bed.
A few cute random stories from the last week:
I was putting Cooper to bed for the first time in his new bed so maybe dragged the process out a little longer than normal because he turned to me and said, "bye bye Mommy!"
I had bunco with my girlfriends on Wednesday night so Jennon put Cooper to bed that night. I'm not exactly sure what Jennon was saying but Cooper turned to him and said, "Ok Daddy, I'm going to go to sleep now!"
Wednesday afternoon I picked Cooper up from daycare and as we were leaving he shouted out to his buddy, "Bye Jackson, I love you!"
On the baby Caruth front everything seems to be progressing really well and my back and I are really hoping to meet this sweet little guy in the next week or two. I had an appointment on Wed and am dilated 2cm, 70% effaced, and the head is, "really, really low," according to Dr. Jeffiers. I go back this Wednesday so am anxious to hear if any progress has been made.
The pictures above are of Cooper in his new bed, his first time eating corn on the cobb (he is clearly an Iowa boy at heart, he was a natural and loved it) and a trip to Lake Harriett with Nana to check out the ducks.
Our plan for this morning is to take Cooper to his very first movie at the theater, an update and pictures to come soon.
Take care!

July 23rd was an eventful day!
It was a crazy day in the Caruth house! Our day started off with the wonderful news that Amy and Danny had sweet Baby Boy Chupp (name still to be determined) around 6:30am. I am so sad it will be awhile before we get to meet the little guy in person, but we were able to face time with them all and loved getting to see him. Cooper is in LOVE with his new baby cousin! Although very tired from a night full of labor, the Chupp's are all doing great and both sets of grandparents are there to enjoy this special time.
Cooper went down for an early nap and we then headed to Target Field for Cooper's very first Twins game! We had so much fun! It was a hot day but luckily our seats gave us access to a nice air conditioned area full of concessions, tv's and nice clean bathrooms. Cooper was able to meet TC Bear! He was definitely star struck ; ) The Twins ended up beating the Tigers and we lasted until the 6th inning which I thought was pretty good for a 2 year old and a 9 month pregnant lady who were attending an afternoon game in late July!
Our day unfortunately ended with a trip to Children's Urgent Care. Cooper ended up falling in the family room and his nose crashed into metal bucket. We were nervous at first that his nose might be broken, or that he would need stitches for the cut on his nose so raced to the hospital. Cooper was a star patient. Jennon read him books while the nurse cleaned out his cut and the Dr examined him. They couldn't believe how good he was! Luckily he did not need stitches and they decided to glue the cut. It isn't seeming to bother him so that is a big relief. I'm sure this will be the first of many incidences like that but I am definitely not used to it. Hoping for a nice relaxing Sunday.

Cooper Turns 2!
I can't believe our little guy is now 2 years old! We had a WONDERFUL weekend full of fun with family and friends. Cooper awoke on 4th to find the house filled with his birthday decorations. He loved them, and instantly requested birthday cake. We had a great morning with both sets of Grandparents, Springer's and Klocke's enjoying the Edina parade. The marching bands and horses seemed to be a favorite of Cooper's. We grilled lunch at our house followed by his birthday cake fruit pizza and presents. We are still working on getting him to say that he is 2 when someone asks him how old he is. His first response is often, "I'm 1!" with lots of conviction. We'll get there!
A few cute stories from the weekend:
We were at Target checking out and the cashier's often give Cooper a sticker. He asked me for a sticker so I told him to ask the nice lady at the register for one. He turned to her and said, "May I please have a sticker?" I was SO proud! What a polite little guy, and I didn't even tell him what to say!
Tuesday morning Cooper had just gotten up and Jennon was getting ready to leave for work. Cooper turned the corner and saw Jennon in his suite and tie and said, "Daddy tie off!" He clearly knows that when Daddy wears a tie that means he is soon heading to work. It made Jennon so sad, but was cute none the less.
On the baby front, I am now 32 weeks and feeling pretty good. I have been having quite a few braxton hicks contractions which according to my doctor is completely normal. Am still measuring a little small, but everything seems to be going well thus far. Cooper has his friend birthday party next weekend and after that I think we will start getting organized for this little ones arrival.
Happy Birthday Cooper! You mean the world to us and have brought more joy to our lives than we ever thought possible!
