Mother's Day

We have had a great few weekends full of fun with family and friends. Last weekend we were in IA and NE. We enjoyed time on Friday with our great friends the Krager's. I think it is official, Cooper and Maddie are in LOVE! The night started with Cooper bringing Maddie a bouquet of flowers, then later the smooth operator gave her a smooch right on the lips! I think Kaki has some better pictures on her camera than we have from Jennon's phone so will make sure to post them when I get them from her. They were so cute playing together and the next morning Maddie came running into Cooper's room and tickled him on the tummy. We are so lucky and we get to see the Krager's again this weekend so it will be funny to see how they react when they see each other again. Jennon and Cooper then spent the remainder of the weekend in Ankeny with Grandma Cyndie and Grandpa Carroll. They had fun reading books and playing at the park. Cooper fell in love with a kite that was flying around, and now whenever he sees either Carroll or Cyndie he starts talking about the kite. I was then in Omaha celebrating Baby Chupp and at a wonderful baby shower that was thrown for my sister. We all had a great time together.
I have had a wonderful Mother's Day weekend with my two favorite guys. Cooper and I had a picnic lunch at Centennial Lakes on Friday, he loved seeing the birds and the ducks diving into the water. Our friends Dana and Charles came over Friday night for dinner and Cooper definitely has a new buddy in Charles. He LOVED playing with him and was just laughing up a storm! Saturday was a beautiful day so we spent most of the day playing outside. Jennon did a TON of yard work. Sunday started with Caribou delivered to me from Jennon and he then made us all breakfast. More yardwork, skyping with the grandparents and a wagon ride around the neighborhood pretty much summed up the day. Cooper and I might have had afternoon naps thrown in somewhere ; ) While on our walk/wagon ride we saw our neighbor boy Ben who is in 7th grade. We chatted with his mom yesterday while on one of our walks. He came up to Cooper and said, "I heard you like basketball. Would you like to have this ball?" Cooper quickly replied with a, "Yes!" and Ben gave him a small blue basketball. Cooper was thrilled and then thanked Ben for the ball. What a nice guy!
On a side note, Cooper has started initiating saying his prayers. Out of nowhere he will put his cute little hands together and say, "Say prayers!" Then with a little help he will say, "Bless this food, Amen!" I am truly blessed and feel lucky and thankful for the amazing family that I have.
