Easter Weekend

Other than Drewbird coming down with either a cold or some wicked teething symptoms we had a really nice Easter weekend. Our church had a really nice service on Good Friday that we attended. Once the boys were both asleep for the night Jennon and I enjoyed the new fire pit/patio that Jennon has spent the last two weekends building.
We then left for Ankeny on Saturday morning. The drive down was a little rough so we were all VERY HAPPY once we arrived at Caruth's. Saturday afternoon was spent with Grandma Cyndie giving Cooper a piano lesson and then an Easter Egg Hunt! Cooper LOVED the hunt, and had just as much excitement and awe with every egg he found! It was just adorable hearing his sweet little voice shout out, "I found another one!" Drew thoroughly enjoyed the teething ring the Easter Bunny left for him in his basket and was perfectly content chewing on that while Coop found all of the eggs.
We had a delicious and fun meal on Sunday with the Staples family. It was so nice to see family we hadn't seen since Thanksgiving. Cooper was particularly fond of his second cousin Oliver who is 7. He kept following him around the house. Grandma Cyndie asked Cooper to say the prayer, and before he started he made sure Oliver had his hands folded and his eyes closed ; ) It was a beautiful day outside so Cooper took Jennon's old trike for a spin. He doesn't quite have the hang for pedaling yet so the highlight was mostly zooming down the driveway. You can tell from the picture this required intense concentration!
The weekend ended on a high note with Cooper successfully going to the bathroom on the toilet twice!!! I think we should buy stock in Hot Wheels and Monster Trucks because so far that is what he has received each time he goes. Once he gets a little more consistent I think we will need to switch to stickers or M & M's.
