Happy Thanksgiving

We had a wonderful fun-filled Thanksgiving full of family and friends. We started the weekend in Ankeny. Drew got to meet many relatives for the very first time, and Cooper had a blast playing with Aunt Delayna. He also had a great time playing the piano with Grandma Cyndie. Drew was very fond of Great Grandpa Rusty and was cooing and giggling up a storm. On Friday we headed to Omaha where we celebrated with the Cooper's and Chupp's for William's baptism which took place on Sunday morning. Cooper loved playing with the Chupp boys and was thrilled with the large stash of toy cars that Brenda pulled out. Cooper was hilarious at the baptism dinner and happily sang the Iowa State Fight song to everyone. Once dessert was served Auntie gave a little toast; as soon as she was done Cooper said, "Are we done talking now?!" Clearly he was VERY anxious to dive right in to the delicious cake that was sitting in front of him. The boys were nothing short of amazing on the long car ride home on Sunday. We only had to stop once! Drew pretty much slept the entire trip home and Cooper did great keeping himself entertained with books and music. Last night we put the Christmas tree up and read all of our Christmas books (multiple times). Cooper put the star on top and then found our Elf on the Shelf resting on top of the mantle. We have another weekend of fun ahead so will post more soon. The holiday season is off to a wonderful start. So thankful for our amazing family and friends.

3 months old and thankful

Drew bird is 3 months old today. The little guy just gets cuter every day. He is smiling, cooing and laughing up a storm. He loves to lay in bed with his big brother and listen to books, and gets a huge smile hidden behind his pacifier whenever he sees Jennon walk into a room. Still a really good eater, and knock on a wood a really good sleeper at night too. He has rolled over a few times from his stomach to his back. Feeling especially thankful and blessed this Thanksgiving for our amazing family. I could not love the men in my life more.
Below are a few funny stories that have taken place over the last few weeks:
Cooper was running around his room naked after a bath. He was by his bookshelf trying to pick out some reading material. He tossed a few off the shelf and onto the floor like he normally does when picking out a book, but all of a sudden I hear tinkling. The little guy didn't even know it but he was peeing on the floor! Three of his books had to get tossed. Clearly not ready for potty training quite yet ; )
Had a fun evening planned, my mom, Drew and I were going to do some early Christmas shopping and grab dinner and Cooper was going to Jennon's office for a bit then out for a fun little dinner. Was so impressed that I was completely organized and we were all ready to go right on time. Get the boys bundled up and in the car and then realize the car battery is dead! Cooper starts to cry because our plans are now ruined. We all get back in the house, and the chaos continues but now Gus is barking and Drew is crying because he keeps loosing his pacifier. I just put my hands over my face. Cooper turns to me and says, "Peek a boo Mommy!" I guess things really weren't that bad after all.
Several of the smiling pictures are thanks to Cooper standing by my side making funny faces and noises at Drew ; )

Comparing the Caterpillars

Just wanted to see how similar our little guys looked on their first Halloween.

Trick or Treating

We had a fun filled Halloween! Pictures taken with the cousins in their costumes, then trick or treating with Springer's. When Cooper woke up from his nap he said, "I can't wait to go trick or treating with my buddy Derek!" Cooper and Addie stuck together and were so cute going up to the door together. I loved hearing their sweet little voices saying, "Trick or Treat!" Cooper had so much fun! He kept saying, "I love candy!" He got a full sized Hershey bar and came running up to me and said, "Mommy I got this for you!" So sweet. Our Hungry Little Caterpillar went to a few houses but then stayed inside with Daddy, Derek and baby Evelynn.
Happy Halloween!

Happy Halloween!

We have started to celebrate Halloween! We (Jennon) carved a pumpkin yesterday and we did a dry run trick or treat tonight to Nana and Gumpa's house. Cooper wanted nothing to do with cleaning out the inside of the pumpkin, he preferred to read his new Halloween books from Aunt Jill. The pumpkin was supposed to look like LIghtning McQueen. Cooper loves it so that is all that matters. We went to Nana and Gumpa's tonight, Cooper was so excited to ring the doorbell, and right when Nana answered the door he said, "trick or treat Nana!" We will visit Owen and Gavin tomorrow late afternoon for some Hallween pics and then head to Springer's for some trick or treating. Will make sure post pictures from tomorrow festivities!
Happy Halloween!
Oh, we also got our first picture taken as a family of four. I can't believe that Drew is two months old and we just now got a picture with all of us together!

Drew is 2 months old!

Drew had has 2 month check up on Monday and seems to be right on track. Everything checked out well and he is continuing to be a lot more alert and smiley. He might have started out a little slow in regards to weight gain but has definitely made up ground! His stats are:
Weight 12lbs 7oz, 67%
Height 22.75in, 41%
Head 40.2cm, 54%
Cooper also received a quick check from the Dr and once she was finished he said to her, "Thanks for checking my body!"

We purchased some hours from a cleaning service through Crowd Cuts and two nice women came over the other day to do some cleaning. The boys and I were at the front door getting ready to leave. One of ladies just finished vacuuming the entryway and Cooper said to her, "Thanks for cleaning that!" So proud of him and his manners ; )

Chef BoyarC

Cooper and Nana made homemade applesauce today. He loved wearing his chef outfit, and did a great job helping stir the apples. It ended a little too chunky for Cooper's taste when we gave him some for dinner, but we thought it turned out great!
